Transcripts & Parchments
TRANSCRIPTS
Transcripts are a student's permanent academic record of verifiable institutional enrollment which can include information such as: names, student ID number, date of birth (excluding year), credential program(s) sought/conferred, institutional honours designations achieved, semesters attended (including Open Studies), and all credit courses or associated placeholders (e.g. practicums, co-op work terms, etc.) finished (i.e. final letter grade or pass/fail), attempted/repeated, withdrawn, audited, and/or transferred, in chronological order of completion, where applicable.
Official transcripts will contain more institution-specific identifiers (e.g. the current ULETH grading scheme on the reverse side of the document, university seal, Registrar Head's name and signature etc.) when compared to unofficial transcripts.
Requesting a copy of one's unofficial or official uLethbridge transcript are both accomplished online via your Bridge account (see the drop-down tabs below).
- NOTE: uLethbridge DOES NOT automatically issue complimentary copies of official transcripts to graduated students. Any and all requests for official transcripts from active/inactive students or alumni alike, regardless of it is for themselves or for distribution to other institutions, must be requested through their Bridge accounts and paid for (no-exceptions). See the "Requesting OFFICIAL Transcripts" drop-down tab below.
Phone/email requests for official transcripts will unfortunately not be honoured as the student's written consent via the dedicated Bridge system form will always be required before an Official Academic Transcript (which are confidential documents) can be released/issued to the requesting parties.
***If you are a former student and cannot recall either your old log-in credentials for the Bridge or your 9-digit student ID number, then please call the ULETH IT Solutions Centre during their normal operating hours (7:30am - 5:00pm, Mon-Fri) at 1-403-329-2490 (City of Lethbridge number) so that one of their answering technicians can confidentially disclose your prior ULETH username and subsequently reset your Bridge password. You may be asked a few questions for identity verification purposes. |
UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT - A digital (non-MyCreds) copy. Completing this process on a laptop or PC works best.
- Bridge log-in > "Student" tab > Student Records > Unofficial Transcript > Transcript Level: All Levels | Transcript Type: Unofficial Transcript > Submit > Ctrl + P on your keyboard > "Save to PDF" or "Print to PDF" > save as local file on personal device
- There is no cost associated with generating one's own unofficial transcript
OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT - (1) A hard copy original, stamped with the university's seal, delivered by regular letter mail (from the Lethbridge Campus) in a sealed envelope OR, (2) an authenticated digital MyCreds copy, sent directly from uLethbridge to another institution.
- Method 1 (Hard Copy): Bridge log-in > “Student” tab > Student Records > Request Official Transcript > complete online form, as instructed.
- Under normal circumstances, official hard copy transcripts will take anywhere between 2-5 business days to be generated and eventually delivered to their intended destination, if in Canada. Will take longer if delivery destination is outside of Canada
- With each hard copy transcript request, a complimentary official digital copy of it will also be uploaded into the secure MyCreds digital wallet
- Under normal circumstances, official hard copy transcripts will take anywhere between 2-5 business days to be generated and eventually delivered to their intended destination, if in Canada. Will take longer if delivery destination is outside of Canada
- Method 2 (digital MyCreds Copy): Bridge log-in > “Student” tab > Student Records > Request Digital MyCreds Transcript > complete online form, as instructed.
IMPORTANT: Should the student have any outstanding fees still owing to the university at the time of request (e.g. unpaid tuition, unpaid textbooks costs charged to the student’s account, overdue library fees, etc.) then the ULETH SEARS office reserves the right to withhold the release of one’s official transcripts (physical and digital) until all balances are paid in full/zeroed out (no exceptions).
*** The non-refundable charge for all official transcript requests (physical or digital) is currently $12.00 CAD, per copy. Students will be prompted to enter a valid VISA or MasterCard number via the Bridge's online form to charge this fee to. Additional charges may be applied to those requests involving other delivery methods beyond regular letter mail (e.g. fax, courier, etc.) ***
PARCHMENTS
Parchments are a graduated student's culminating proof of their fully completed academic credential program sought (i.e. degree, diploma, or certificate) as verified by their faculty and conferred/awarded by the university.
Physical parchments are normally distributed to a graduand through 1-of-2 ways:
- In-person during their respective convocation ceremony (when they walk the stage); or
- Delivered in the mail to the most up-to-date address that is currently on file for them in the university’s systems ~1-2 weeks after convocation (for non-attendees).
As of the Fall 2020 convocation cycle, all ULETH graduands will concurrently have a complimentary and authenticated digital-version of their parchment generated and uploaded into the online MyCreds digital wallet, for confidential and secure access and distribution.
In the event that a ULETH alumnus needs a replacement physical parchment, they can subsequently email the ULETH SEARS Office’s-Graduation Unit at graduation@uleth.ca to initiate this request.
- If the original parchment CAN BE RETURNED to ULETH (damaged but still intact), then it must be mailed to and successfully received by the SEARS office before the new replacement one can be issued. See below:

- If the original parchment CANNOT BE RETURNED to ULETH (lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged beyond recognition/repair), then the replacement parchment (including any subsequent future copies) will have a stamped annotation in a lower corner indicating both its “duplicate” status as well as the designated date of re-issue.
***All replacement or additional physical parchments ordered will entail a non-refundable re-issue fee of $100.00 CAD + GST***
