Faculty of Education Wintertime Wellness

Dear Members of the Faculty of Education and the Broader Teaching Community,

We hope you are all doing well! 2020 has been a difficult year for many people. The pandemic has presented many challenges, but as a community we have come together to support each other through these trying times. The Faculty of Education has placed great emphasis on the health and well-being of its members, and this was exemplified through the Faculty Wellness Challenge in the Fall Term 2020. Every week, numerous students, staff, and faculty tweeted out pictures of themselves engaging in diverse wellness activities, ranging from walking their dog to engaging in exercise, spending time with family to reading a good book. The tweets served as a reminder of the importance of taking care of ourselves in order to be able to serve others in our capacity as educators, but they also demonstrated the strength we have as a community. Although we may be physically isolated, we are never alone, as there is a large professional community to support us. As we enter into the holiday season, we are mindful of the importance of continuing to foster community and promote wintertime wellness. As a result, we will be posting community voices of wellness throughout the holiday season and into the new year. We hope the wellness messages will inspire you to prioritize your well-being during the holidays.

We wish you a happy and healthy holiday season!!
