World Mental Health Day
Tuesday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Atrium, University Hall
The U of L campus community is encouraged to wear purple in honour of World Mental Health Day. The Light Up Purple campaign was created in honour of Amanda Todd, a 15-year-old Canadian girl who committed suicide after being sexually exploited online and cyberbullied. The Student Success Centre will host a table in the Atrium with mental health resources, a Plinko game, a whiteboard campaign and ingredients to make a stress ball.

Rough and Tumble Play
Wednesday, Oct. 11, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Theatre Gallery, Lethbridge Public Library, Main Branch
Dr. Jeffrey MacCormack, a professor in the Faculty of Education and a core member of the Institute for Child and Youth Studies, will discuss the benefits and dangers of rough-and-tumble play in this talk hosted by The Lethbridge Early Years Coalition.

Fall 2017 Convocation
Saturday, Oct. 14, 10 a.m., 1st Choice Savings Centre
The U of L will celebrate the accomplishments of its most recent graduates during fall convocation. During this year’s ceremonies, the U of L will confer an honorary doctor of laws degree upon Buffy Sainte-Marie, singer-songwriter, activist, educator, visual artist and philanthropist.
