June 3, 2008 — Sapporo, Japan

A beautiful day Mr. Mori picked us up at 9.30 and we were off through the mountains to the coast of the Japan Sea. On the way I was given the opportunity to wrestle with a dish of Tempura. It was not a pretty sight.

Continuing on, after passing many shapes including the Praying Man we stopped at Rinko —an overlook — and walked down to the waters edge amidst a sea of flowers.

Later, on the way to an historical museum depicting herring fishing this dumkopf jammed the wrong battery into his camera which started a two day frenzy to try and get it out so the camera would be more than a boat anchor on our upcoming journey.

Arriving back in Sapporo we were treated to a Japanese food feast at Mori's family home.
