A highlight of my university years was playing all the great songs from the big band era.

This was a time before such groups were integrated into university music programs. Our hobby band was made up of students from all faculties as well as the Saskatoon community and each year we played a number of university dances and jazz concerts. Somehow, I managed to obtain tape recordings from these events. Time hasn't been kind to some of the tapes but it's possible we weren't always kind to the songs either. In any case, it was a lot of fun. Maybe these sound bytes will bring back a few memories for you too.
