VandenHoek Schlachter Pride Award
The VandenHoek Schlachter Pride Award was established through a generous donation by ULethbridge alumni Jason VandenHoek (BMgt ’05) and Kurt Schlachter (BSc ’00), creating a first-of-its-kind endowment fund providing support for 2SLGBTQ+ students and those who advance equity and inclusion.
This competition is open to ALL ULethbridge continuing undergraduate or graduate students. Submissions will be judged by a committee that shall include representation from (or recommendations by) the Accessibility, Belonging and Community office.
Value: $2,000
Eligibility: Open to ANY University of Lethbridge undergraduate or graduate continuing student who is in good standing at the closing date of the competition.
Criteria:
- Submit an essay outlining contributions made towards advancing equity or fostering inclusion for the 2SLGBTQ+ community, either on campus or in a broader context. Describe specific initiatives, projects, or leadership roles you have undertaken. How have your efforts positively impacted the community?
- Maximum 500 words. File type must be .pdf.
- Payment upon confirmation of full-time enrolment at the University of Lethbridge in the term(s) immediately following the granting of the award.
