Kerry Godfrey
Kerry Godfrey, originally from Nelson BC, is an internationally educated academic planner and innovator with over 30 years of practical experience in academic development, management and leadership. His educational and professional experience, from undergraduate to Professor, Dean and Vice-Provost spans 9 universities in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Canada. Starting with his very first academic appointment in England, and throughout his career in Canada and the UK, he has been significantly involved in creating new and innovative academic programs, to helping build a new federal university in the Scottish Highlands and Islands. A development planner by training, Dr. Godfrey has extensive international experience through research and professional fieldwork in 17 countries, as a special adviser to the Council of Europe, and through direct supervision of undergraduate and graduate students from over 40 different countries. His 2nd book, The Tourism Development Handbook: a practical approach to planning and marketing, first published globally in 2000, has since been translated into Chinese and Italian and used for teaching around the world.
