Applied Studies & Internships
Applied Studies & Internships
Earn course credit for an employment or volunteer experience.
Blend your classroom learning with practical, hands-on education.
Develop and demonstrate your skills, qualification and knowledge on the job.
The Applied Studies program allows you to earn course credit for what you learn through paid or volunteer employment related to your field of study.
You'll learn through doing, develop skills and gain experience related to your area of study.
You’ll work a minimum of 130 hours over the course of a 13 week semester (10 hours a week) with a government agency, volunteer organization, educational institution, corporation or business, as long as the placement opportunity provides a significant learning component.
You may arrange your own placement, or the Applied Studies office can help. An applied studies coordinator, a faculty supervisor and a workplace supervisor support you throughout your placement.
