Program description

Our new Master of Management (MMgt) program, offered at the Calgary campus, provides the perfect opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals with less than 5 years of post-degree work experience from a non-business degree to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities seen as important to succeed in supervisory, managerial and leadership roles.

The MMgt focuses on practical, hands-on learning with real-world projects, equipping you with the skills needed to be effective in a modern management setting. You’ll develop competencies in leadership, strategic planning, problem-solving, communication, team management, entrepreneurialism and decision-making. You’ll also enhance your knowledge and skills in financial management, marketing strategies, human resource practices and business analytics, among others. At the end of your degree, you’ll be better positioned to pursue a managerial or leadership role in your chosen field.

Benefits of taking the Master of Management at the Dhillon School of Business:

  • Course-based graduate program (no major thesis to write).
  • No prior work experience needed, up to a maximum of 5 years of post-degree work experience.
  • Study on a full- or part-time basis, meaning you can work full-time while earning your master’s degree part-time.
  • Offered in-person, allowing you to have direct interaction with experienced faculty and collaboration with peers, fostering a vibrant learning environment.
  • You’ll gain hands-on practice through in-class activities, case studies and a capstone project where you’ll work on solving a real business problem from a real company.
  • Skills learned in our master’s program are those requested by employers, based on our review of the labour market reports and in consultation with the business community.
  • Professional development resources to complement your degree such as free Linked-In Learning membership and access to THRIVE Professional Skills Program for Graduate Students.
  • We are part of the 6% of business schools worldwide that are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This means the program meets the highest standards for management education.
