International Women's Day
IWD provides an opportunity to raise awareness and highlight the need for consistent action to advance gender equality and, more importantly, break the numerous biases that surround the stories and experiences of all women.
Theme of the year
The International Women’s Day campaign theme for 2024 is #InspireInclusion. Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #InspireInclusion. Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness about discrimination. Take action to drive gender parity. IWD belongs to everyone, everywhere. Inclusion means all IWD action is valid.
The United Nations International Women’s Day theme is “Invest in women: Accelerate progress”. Achieving gender equality and women’s well-being in all aspects of life is more crucial than ever if we want to create prosperous economies and a healthy planet. However, we are facing a key challenge: the alarming $360 billion annual deficit in gender-equality measures by 2030. This theme invites all to address five key areas for joint action and to take a stand using the hashtag #InvestInWomen.
