About
Dr. Kerry Bernes is a Professor of Educational and Counselling Psychology in the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge. He graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Education, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy (Counselling Psychology). He joined the University of Lethbridge in July of 1997 after spending 8 years with the Calgary Board of Education. He also served two terms as the Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies and Research from July 2011 to December 2017.
Teaching Interests
Graduate courses taught include: Counselling Psychology: Skills, Counselling Psychology: Theory, Counselling Psychology: Interventions, Counselling Psychology: Practicum I and II. • Undergraduate courses taught include: Educational Psychology, Psychology and Education of Exceptional Students in Regular Classrooms, Counselling Skills, Career Education, Outdoor Education, PS III.
Research Interests
Kerry's research interests include: career development, behavioural disorders, partnerships in mental health, at risk youth, mental health issues in the workplace and the professional practice of psychology.
