Join us at our Calgary campus for a human resource industry panel discussion on the future of conducting business/work with a specific focus on hybrid work and AI technology. Our panel participants will discuss hybrid work policies, security, privacy, processes, standards, business protocols and more, as well as how AI can mesh with with business needs, complimenting hybrid work and enhance innovation and productivity. Open to students and the community. 

The event will take place virtually and in-person at: Bow Valley College North campus, 345 6 Ave SE, Calgary, in room N231

Our panelists:

Kim Glenn | Director of Human Resources at TFI International

Kim is a born and raised Calgarian who has been working in human resources for 25 years.

For the last 17 years she has worked for TFI International, which is the largest trucking transportation Company in Canada.

TFI International grows by acquisition and currently has over 25,000 employees working within 80 operating divisions in North America. Due to the acquisition and de-centralized model that makes up the genetics of TFI, Kim is fortunate to have gained extensive working knowledge of both federal and provincial employment legislation.

Kim’s experience is vast and includes all of the major functions of HR including employee and labour relations, compensation, benefits and pensions, recruitment, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, HRIS and payroll as well as policy development.

Kim is energetic and passionate about everything she does. She enjoys a healthy work life balance and in her personal time you will often find her scuba diving and exploring the various oceans of the world.

 


Aaron Nakama | Senior Lead, Talent Technology at Teck

While other kids were collecting hockey cards, Aaron was collecting business cards, igniting his passion and fervor for making connections since he was 7 years old. Boasting over two decades of expertise in driving digital transformation and talent acquisition strategies, his career commenced by converting global media stations to cutting-edge Canadian software in 1998, revolutionizing news production at several local, national, and international radio and TV stations. Transitioning from top-tier technical recruitment, Aaron excels in guiding startups and major corporations across diverse sectors through rapid expansions, deploying agile recruitment solutions for seamless company evolution. Currently serving as the Senior Lead of Talent Technology, he spearheads a global center of excellence focused on enriching the employee, hiring manager, recruiter, and candidate experience, elevating talent management processes, and enhancing the overall employee journey.

 


Michelle Dolan | Director of HR at MNP Community and Sports Centre

Michelle Dolan, the Director of Human Resources at MNP Community & Sport Centre, was recruited in 2018 to report to the CEO as part of the strategic leadership team. Michelle has over 16 years of experience providing organizations with human resource expertise and artificial intelligence. 

Before joining MNP Community & Sport Centre, Michelle worked at WestJet for 18 years where she held many different roles: flight attendant, recruiter, facilitator, instructional designer and manager. Michelle’s passion for human resources began when she saw the need to attract and develop great talent at WestJet. 

Michelle values education, which includes continuous professional and personal development. She completed an MBA in 2017 and earned her CPHR designation in 2020. Her passion is inspiring others on their career path and fostering a culture of professional development by providing employees with the tools they need to be successful. Michelle believes both individuals and the corporations they work for benefit from learning opportunities that contribute to one’s sense of curiosity, engagement, resilience, fulfillment and career advancement.
