Enjoy a panel of experts sharing their perspectives on the Future of Accounting: Leveraging AI, and celebrate alum who recently passed the CFE (common final exam) to become CPA's.

| Obed Maurice CPA, CA, CFP | Founder, Maxim Advisory Group and Maxim One Obed is a seasoned holistic planner and financial advisor. After becoming a CPA in 2010, he worked as the Chief Operating Office (COO) for an ultra high-net worth family office then as a partner for a mid-sized CPA firm. He is an entrepreneur at heart. He founded one of Canada’s first cloud based CPA firms which was subsequently acquired in 2018. He also founded the tech start up, MaximONE, which automates financial wellness and proactive advice. Recently, Obed was recognized with the CPA Distinguished Service Award from CPA Alberta and the Career Virtuoso award from Lethbridge College. He’s a CPA, CA and CFP that is deeply passionate about helping people find their potential. Obed’s approach to financial planning is based on his own family’s needs for holistic and comprehensive service. He loves helping entrepreneurs and professionals maximize their life’s work by helping them create and protect wealth. He supports his clients with thoughtful design, holistic strategy and a team to execute. When he’s off the clock, he loves to wake surf, paddle board, hike, golf, ski, skate and mountain bike. He loves his wife, daughter, pizza and anything outdoors. |

| Josephine Naicker, Certified Cloud Security Professional CPA, CCSP, CISSP, CRMA, CIA, CISA, CFE, ICD.D, PMP | Co-Founder of CyberCloud-AI, an Indigenous led Tech Startup Josephine Naicker is a Global Citizen whose travels and work have shaped her belief in Ubuntu, “I am because we are,” emphasizing collective humanity and shared responsibility. Guided by compassion and community, she promotes lifelong learning, innovation, and philanthropy. Josephine lectures on Data Analytics, Blockchain, and AI at the University of Lethbridge and co-founded an Indigenous-led AI, Cloud, and Cybersecurity company focused on ensuring Indigenous peoples benefit from technological advancements. As a Certified Cloud Security Professional, she leverages technology to solve challenges and create societal benefits. Josephine co-developed the Certificate in Cloud Auditing Knowledge (CCAK), the first global cloud auditing credential, earning recognition with the Alberta Newcomer Award. She brings extensive expertise in risk, audit, and forensics from her work across various sectors, including serving on the United Nations Board of Auditors. Josephine also chairs the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS), supporting immigrant and refugee integration, and contributes to the Calgary Audit Committee. Her work reflects a commitment to nurturing future leaders and creating inclusive opportunities, driven by her belief in the spirit of Ubuntu. |
