Canadian Election Panel — Drs. Geoffrey Hale, Harold Jansen and Alan Siaroff

Monday, Oct. 5, 4 to 6 p.m. Anderson Hall 118

Sponsored by the Association of Political Science Students, the panel will have Hale, Jansen and Siaroff comment on the federal election campaign and what the future might hold. The last hour will be devoted to answering student questions.

Brothers? Rivals? Adversaries? Christian Missionaries in Muslim Lands (1220-2015) — Dr. Paul Shore

Monday, Oct. 5, 7 p.m., University Hall C674

Shore, an adjunct professor of Religious Studies at the University of Regina, will examine four Christian missionary encounters with Islam, St. Francis of Assisi’s expedition to the Sultan of Babylon, Jesuit Michel Nau’s travels through the Ottoman Empire, the Victorian medical missionaries of Great Britain and contemporary Pentecostal proselytizing in Cameroon.

Mudfoot Theatre Artists — Visiting Artist/Alumni Talk

Tuesday, Oct. 6, 12:15 to 1:30 p.m., W420

Students can hear about the exciting and varied careers from three Mudfoot Theatre artists since they graduated from the University of Lethbridge a few short years ago. Geneviève Paré, Ian McFarlane and Ryan Reese, creators and performers of Hudson Bay Epic, will be on hand to share tales and answer questions.

Jessi Cruickshank — University of Lethbridge Students’ Union Academic Speaker Series

Cruickshank is a sought-after host and emcee. She became a household name on MTV Canada’s hit series The Hills After Show. She is currently the Los Angeles host of eTalk on CTV. Cruickshank will be sharing her insights with a focus on self-worth, not net worth.

ART NOW — Leila Armstrong

Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, noon to 12:50 p.m., ­­­­­Recital Hall, W570

Leila Armstrong’s most recent solo exhibition, Coyote, was shown at Casa last year. The exhibit was a body of work that addressed the intersection of wildlife with rural, suburban, and urban spaces. She has also helped facilitate a variety of community-based exhibitions in Lethbridge, including the Cabinet of Queeriosities.
