ART NOW — Bart Willis

Monday, March 23, noon to 12:50 p.m., Recital Hall, W570

Originally from Lethbridge and a former U of L student, Willis is now a tattoo artist living in Austin, Texas. He opened his own shop, Southside Tattoo, in 2002 and it’s now one of the busiest and most respected tattoo shops in Austin. His tattoo art is heavily influenced by the styles of art found in native North American and Pacific Rim cultures.

Good Fences — Downstage Creation Ensemble

Tuesday, March 24, 8 p.m., David Spinks Theatre

Good Fences is a play that explores the relationship between agriculture and oil and gas in Alberta. The story centres on a vice-president for a small oil and gas company in Calgary who buys rural land for a weekend getaway for his family. Soon after his arrival, he learns about plans to put a sour gas pipeline through the area.

Free Tax Filing — Dhillon School of Business students

Friday, March 27, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Markin Hall Financial Trading Room, M2044

This unique program allows trained Dhillon School of Business students, volunteering with the Canada Revenue Agency, to help their fellow students by offering a free drop-in tax service. The program is for people who have simple income tax returns with less than $35,000 in earnings and no business income, capital gains or foreign income. Community members who fit the criteria are also eligible.

Multicultural Potluck and Performances — A Fundraiser for Lethbridge Family Services

Friday, March 27, 5:30 to 11 p.m., Heritage Hall, Exhibition Park

The U of L French and Spanish Clubs are hosting their third annual potluck to raise funds for Lethbridge Family Services. Admission is a homemade potluck dish for at least six people and a $5 donation.
