It’s PSIII Launch Day at the Faculty of Education’s Education Career Fair

Students in the Faculty of Education completing their final practicum, called Professional Semester III (PSIII), complete a full semester internship of practice teaching in K-12 schools across the province. As they near completion of their Internship, the Faculty of Education hosts a culminating day of celebration called Launch Day – where Interns launch into the next phase of their careers as educators.

WHAT: Education Career Fair

WHEN: Friday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m. to noon

WHERE: Students’ Union Ballrooms at the University of Lethbridge

WHO: 35-plus school divisions and 175-plus Faculty of Education students

WHY: Connecting soon-to-be graduates from the Faculty of Education with school divisions hiring new teachers.

Part of Launch Day includes the Education Career Fair where more than 35 school divisions, primarily from Alberta but also from other provinces, descend upon ULethbridge. Interns can visit individual school divisions and speak directly with their representatives to learn about the division priorities and potential hiring opportunities. Many school divisions at the event will interview students on the spot or book future interviews, and some students are hired for their first teaching jobs during the event.

This is an exciting day for students as they near completion of the program and embark on the first steps to securing their first job as a teacher.
