Jamie Ryan
Jamie Ryan is a PhD candidate in English Literature at Queen’s University, and a research assistant with the Indigenous Hockey Research Network. Drawing from Sports Sociology, Utopian Studies, Gender Studies, and Queer Theory, their research explores the utopian potentialities of women’s stand-up hockey literature and how the genre often refuses a present that is hostile and toxic to women and 2SLGBTQIA+ people while also anticipating a queer community that extends into the future. His work has appeared in TOPIA: Canadian Journal of Cultural Studies, American Indian Quarterly, and Aethlon: The Journal of Sports Literature.
