Biography

B.A. (McMaster), M.A. (McGill), Ph.D. (Yale)

Alan Siaroff received his Honours B.A. in Political Science from McMaster University in 1983, his M.A. from McGill University in 1986, and his Ph.D. in Political Science from Yale University in 1994. His Ph.D. dissertation was entitled "Explaining Comparative Economic Success Within the Advanced Capitalist Democracies: Political-Institutional Factors."

Dr. Siaroff taught at McMaster University (1989-92) and the University of British Columbia (1992-98) before coming to the University of Lethbridge in 1998. His major area of specialization is Comparative Politics, particularly European politics, European integration, political development and democratization, comparative party systems and political parties, and comparative and international political economy.
