Steph is our Interim Director of Youth Outreach for the Faculty of Arts & Science. They have a degree in Civil Engineering and Management from McMaster University and have been sharing their love for engineering and STEM with youth since 2013. In her spare time, you’ll find her playing the guitar, exploring the area, or just hanging around playing some video games. They're a kid at heart and aren’t afraid to get a little messy for the sake of science. 

Danny is our Program Coordinator! They have dual degrees in Math & Education from the University of Lethbridge and have always had a passion for sharing their love of science and STEM with youth by tying it into their hobbies and interest, showing kids how video games, sports, and the world around them are filled with science. In their spare time you’ll find them reading, playing games, doing some painting, or spending time with their cat. They’re always ready to jump in on anything new and they love finding adventures to explore and learn new things. 

Alex is back as Camp Coordinator this year. Having just completed his combined degrees in history and Education. Alex is super excited to share all he has learnt with his friends at DE. Super interested in all thing’s technology especially regarding AI and inventions through history. Alex enjoys reading, video games and building computers in his spare time. Be sure to say “hi” to wheels as he zips by.

Aliya is one of your instructors at DE. She is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Lethbridge. She is very enthusiastic about all things science and making STEM enjoyable for everyone. In her free time, Aliya loves listening to music, playing on her drums and guitar, reading a good book, and hanging out with friends. She can't wait to spend a summer full of science fun at DE!

Brittany is one of your instructors at DE. They are completing their final year of their General Science and Education degrees at the University of Lethbridge. They love lots of areas of science, especially Chemistry and Biology. Brittany can usually be found reading books of many genres, taking care of their plants, hanging out with their friends, and playing with their guinea pig, Greg. They cannot wait to meet everyone when they come to Destination Exploration.

Chelsey is one of your instructors at DE. She is currently working towards obtaining a Bachelor of Science in General Sciences as well as a Bachelor of Education at the University of Lethbridge. She has a passion for all things science and wants to share her knowledge and experiences with other young growing minds. In her free time, you can find her spending countless hours with her horses, hanging out with family and friends, or just enjoying the great outdoors!

Dennis is one of your instructors at DE. He is pursuing a BSc of Chemistry. He is passionate about the natural sciences with a special interest in organofluorine chemistry. In his spare time he likes reading, playing and watching soccer, playing various kinds of games and being outdoors. He cannot wait to help enrich everyone’s Destination Exploration experience!

Elora is one of your instructors at DE. They are working towards a Bachelor of Science in General Science at the University of Lethbridge. She is interested in lots of different areas in science and is excited to share their knowledge with the scientists of the future. In their free time you can find them doing puzzles, playing board games, or hanging out with friends and family.

Finley is one of your instructors at DE. She is currently working towards obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Physics. She is eager to share her knowledge and passion in everything STEM related with the hopes of inspiring the young scientists of tomorrow. As an avid reader, she finds solace in burying her nose in books when she is not busy with rigorous academic studies. Finley is also an outdoor enthusiast, and you can often find her hiking, biking, or walking with her Australian Labradoodle, Charley. Finley looks forward to helping others ignite their STEM spark this summer!

Matthew is one of your instructors at DE. He is currently working towards an education degree at the University of Lethbridge. What started with a passion for video games when he was younger has blossomed into a love of all things STEM. He is always trying new things, so he may not always succeed the first time, but he knows that mistakes are where fun and learning start. In his free time, Matthew can be found cooking, listening to music, or playing games. Matthew is also very friendly, so if you see him around, go ahead and say “Hello!”

Nicole is one of your instructors at DE. She has a degree in biology from the University of Lethbridge and is now currently working towards a degree in Education. She loves all things science and is looking forward to a STEM filled summer! She was born in Newfoundland but has loved growing up in Southern Alberta and spending summers outdoors in the sun. In her free time, you can find her reading, baking, or hanging out in the garden. 

Daniel is one of your outreach instructors at DE. He is currently working towards a bachelor’s in Neuroscience. Daniel loves programming and is developing an AI that can create new music. Daniel also loves learning new languages and currently speaks 8 (some badly). Daniel is looking forward to helping young learners explore the beautiful world of STEM!

Sammy is one of your outreach instructors this year! She is currently working towards a degree in biology at the University of Lethbridge with the goal to become a paediatrician. Sammy loves to learn new things and is looking forward to sharing her passion of all things science this summer. In her free time you can find her reading a book or hanging out with her family.

Luke is one of your outreach instructors! He is currently in his last semester of a Computer Science Degree. He loves everything technology, sports and science. Luke is looking to spread his passion for technology in this advancing world with growing minds. You can find Luke hanging out in the Science commons, the computer labs and playing Soccer on campus. He’s looking forward to meeting you all!
